Nintendo has announced a new physical release for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, titled Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension. This bundle will include the base game along with its Mega Dimension DLC on a single game card, catering to physical media collectors. The release date for this new edition is set for October 29.
Despite the name, the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will function identically to the original Nintendo Switch version when played on the older console. Nintendo's press release clarified that any features or content specifically designed for the Nintendo Switch 2's hardware will not be included in this version. The bundle will also come with a download code for 100 Ultra Balls as a Mystery Gift bonus.
The Pokémon Legends: Z-A base game sold over 12 million copies by the end of 2025, and the Mega Dimension expansion was released shortly after. While the base game was met with positive reception, including being named one of Polygon's top 50 games of 2025, the Mega Dimension DLC received criticism for its repetitive nature. In a review of the expansion, it was described as potentially "best nibbled and ultimately left alone."
Details regarding the price of the physical bundle have not yet been released. The digital version of the base game and its DLC together currently retail for $99.99.
