Nintendo's Ocarina of Time Remake Potentially Targeting November Release, Speculation Suggests

Nintendo's upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time may be poised for a November launch, according to speculation fueled by recent amiibo listings. While the game was officially announced in June with a "2026" release window, the discovery of official listings for two new amiibo figures—Sword Kirby and Dragoon and Noir Dedede—with a November 12 release date has led to renewed conjecture.

Historically, Nintendo has sometimes coincided the release of new amiibo, even those not directly tied to a specific game, with major software launches. This practice is believed to be for logistical reasons concerning physical distribution to retail stores. Cited examples include the Mineru's Construct amiibo release date being announced before Fortune's Weave, and Meta Knight and Shadow Star preceding Pokopia, as well as Dedede and Tank Star before Rhythm Heaven Groove.

The Sword Kirby and Dragoon and Noir Dedede amiibo listings, which appeared on Nintendo's official store with the November 12 date, have since been removed. This sudden removal, coupled with the amiibo's simultaneous appearance alongside a potential Ocarina of Time remake launch, has intensified speculation among observers.

A November 12 release for the Ocarina of Time remake would place it in a month largely avoided by other major game releases, as publishers deliberately steer clear of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is expected to dominate the market upon its November 19 arrival. Although GTA 6 will not be released on the Switch 2, any indirect competition highlights the potential strategic timing of Nintendo's classic title remake.
