Following its successful theatrical run, the science fiction film Project Hail Mary is set to launch on home video formats in August, with a special limited edition steelbook slated for an October release. The movie, based on Andy Weir's novel, follows science teacher Ryland Grace as he awakens on a spaceship lightyears from Earth with amnesia, only to discover he is humanity's last hope against a dying sun.
Blu-ray and DVD Releases
The standard editions for Project Hail Mary will be available on August 11. The 4K Blu-ray version is priced at $28 (down from $38) and includes special features such as deleted scenes, a featurette, and an audio commentary track with directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Amazon offers the lowest preorder price for this edition, with its preorder price guarantee ensuring customers only pay after the item ships.
The standard Blu-ray edition, also releasing on August 11, will retail for $25 (was $32). It features the same special content as the 4K release and is presented in 1080p. A DVD version will also be available on August 11 for $26, though it will not include any special features and is presented in 480p.
Limited Edition Steelbook
A lavish Project Hail Mary Limited Edition Steelbook (4K Blu-ray) is scheduled for release on October 11. Priced at $50, this version boasts collectible cover art, a collectible booklet, new bonus materials exclusive to the edition, an audio commentary track, a featurette titled "Earth's Favorite Eridian," and deleted scenes. It also includes the special features found on the regular Blu-ray release. The steelbook edition is presented in native 4K with Dolby Vision, HDR10, and Dolby Atmos support. While currently sold out, this collectible edition is worth monitoring for restocking.

In addition to the home video releases, a Project Hail Mary Lego set, priced at $100, launched on July 16. This 830-piece set allows fans to build a replica of the Hail Mary spacecraft and includes minifigures of Ryland Grace and his alien companion, Rocky. The film itself was a significant box office success, grossing over $683 million globally during its theatrical run.
