Sifu Punches Its Way Onto iOS and Android Devices

Sifu, Sloclap's 2022 martial arts action game, has launched on Android and iOS devices. The release follows an announcement earlier in the month.

The mobile version of Sifu is priced at $8 / £6 and has been developed specifically for smartphone screens. It features new touch-based controls that translate the game's core moves to on-screen prompts, with streamlined environmental interactions. The ports also include a new adaptive camera, designed to perform better on smaller displays.

Sloclap stated that efforts were made to retain the game's signature painterly aesthetic and fluid combat for the mobile release. For players who prefer them, controller support is also available.

Sifu was met with critical acclaim and achieved significant commercial success, selling over 1 million copies within its first three weeks. Initially a PlayStation and Epic Games Store exclusive, the game later expanded its availability to Steam and Xbox.

Following Sifu, Sloclap released Rematch, a critically acclaimed third-person football game. While commercially successful, its announcement disappointed some fans hoping for a Sifu sequel. The studio's future project genres remain uncertain, as their previous titles—Absolver (a martial arts MMO), Sifu (a single-player kung fu game), and Rematch (a football game)—have all been distinct from one another.
