Sega has surprise-released Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition for the Switch 2 today, coinciding with the Sonic the Hedgehog 35th Anniversary livestream. This updated version of the 2022 adventure brings all previously released post-launch content and offers graphical and performance enhancements over the original Switch release.
The Definitive Edition integrates The Final Horizon update, which adds a new story campaign, additional challenges, a photo mode, and playable characters such as Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. It also bundles in content from the Sonic’s Birthday Bash and Sights, Sounds, and Speeds updates, alongside a digital art book and mini-soundtrack.
Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition is available on the Switch 2 for $49.99. According to the game's eShop page, there is no apparent upgrade path for players who own the original version on the Switch.
