The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age, a real-time strategy game drawing inspiration from the Age of Empires series, has officially left early access. Publishers MicroProse announced the 1.0 release today, which adds the concluding chapters to the game's single-player narrative. Players will also gain access to the map editor developed by Wield Interactive, which was used to construct the campaign itself.
The game places players in control of a fugitive community navigating the Late Bronze Age Collapse, a period of widespread societal breakdown attributed in part to the migrations of various seafaring groups known historically as the "Sea People." The Fertile Crescent 2 focuses on resource management and economic stability, emphasizing that survival depends on careful planning rather than solely on military might. The developers note that rapid army expansion can strain the food economy, making sustainable resource management as critical as combat prowess.
The full release features 17 missions across four playable factions: the Assyrians, Egyptians, Babylonians, and Hittites. Additionally, the 1.0 version introduces standalone scenario missions, a skirmish mode, and multiplayer support with dedicated servers and bot integration.
