Toy Story 5 Limited-Edition 4K Steelbook Sells Out Immediately

The limited edition 4K steelbook for Toy Story 5 has sold out at retailers including Amazon and Walmart, just hours after preorders began. The premium physical release features unique watercolor-style artwork that celebrates the entire Toy Story franchise.

Collectors may still have a chance to acquire the steelbook if retailers restock it before the September 22 release date. Otherwise, it is likely to appear on secondary markets like eBay at inflated prices. The scarcity of the steelbook may also be attributed to the apparent lack of a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release, forcing those seeking the highest visual fidelity into the steelbook option.

Standard Blu-ray and DVD editions of Toy Story 5 remain available for preorder with the same September 22 release date. These versions feature cover art mirroring the film's primary poster, depicting the main characters facing the new villain, LilyPad. A previously announced collected set of all five Toy Story films has not yet been listed.

All physical editions, including the sold-out steelbook, will include the same bonus features. These consist of several featurettes exploring the making of the new adventure, the casting process, an in-depth look at a pivotal scene, discussions of cut characters and early designs, a gag reel, deleted scenes, and an audio commentary track with co-director Kenna Harris, production designer Bob Pauley, and VFX supervisor Thomas Jordan.

Toy Story 5 was released in theaters in June and has since grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide. The film also recently became available digitally and is expected to begin streaming on Disney+ by the end of September.
