Upcoming Week Promises a Flood of New Indie Game Releases

The gaming landscape is preparing for a significant influx of new releases as the week beginning July 13th approaches, featuring a dense schedule of indie titles. This period is notable for its sheer volume, offering a variety of experiences before the traditionally busy fall season and the highly anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto 6.

Several games are slated for release on July 13th, including the top-down roguelite Ascend to Zero, which requires players to complete runs within 30 seconds by manipulating time. The game's launch on Xbox Game Pass positions it for early visibility. The same day will also see the release of The Last Variable DLC for the 2025 title The Alters.

July 14th presents a particularly crowded release slate. Players can expect An Eggstremely Hard Game, a multiplayer title that was showcased during this year's Summer Game Fest. For fans of deduction and mystery, The Incident at Galley House arrives, a remake of the text-based game Type Help from 2025, developed by creators of The Roottrees Are Dead. Annapurna Interactive is also set to launch D-Topia on this date, a narrative-puzzle game centered on a robot-controlled "utopia."

Denshattack!, an indie game featuring a skateboarding train, has garnered attention for its distinct Dreamcast-inspired aesthetic and is considered a potential breakout hit for 2026. Denshattack drives train toward big baseball

The week's releases culminate on July 16th with a strong lineup. The turn-based strategy series Culdcept returns on Nintendo Switch and PC with Culdcept Begins. Devolver Digital is publishing Heave Ho 2, a sequel to a popular 2019 multiplayer game. The VR series Moss expands to PC and consoles with Moss: The Forgotten Relic. Rounding out the day, SFB Games, known for Crow Country, will release The Mermaid Mask, the latest installment in the Detective Grimoire point-and-click series. With a busy September ahead, this week offers an opportunity to explore promising smaller titles and diversify gaming backlogs across various genres, from mystery to action-oriented experiences.
