The chill, vibey offroad driving game Over the Hill, which has garnered over a million Steam wishlists, will launch on PC on October 14th, developer Funselektor announced. Console versions are slated for release next year.
Over the Hill places players in an old-school 4x4 with a grappling hook, tasked with navigating low-poly hills. The game emphasizes a relaxed pace, encouraging players to savor the experience of "being out there" and planning their routes rather than rushing. This approach, according to PC Gamer's Andy Chalk, captures a sentiment that many driving games miss, focusing on the "real love of the wheel."
The upcoming release will feature several distinct areas across Canada and Algeria, offering more content than the game's previous demo. Players who wish to try the game sooner will have an opportunity to do so at Gamescom later this month.
