The official PC specifications for the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day have been released, revealing a strict requirement for ray-tracing hardware. This means players without compatible GPUs will be unable to run the game, creating a generational lock for some.
The minimum GPU requirement is set at an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or an AMD Radeon RX 6600 with 6GB of VRAM for 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. To achieve 1440p at 60fps, an 8GB VRAM GPU is necessary, while 4K 60fps performance will demand a 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.
Across all graphics presets, the game will require 16GB of RAM. A solid-state drive is also mandatory, with 115GB of storage space needed for installation. The Coalition, the developer, has confirmed support for upscaling technologies including Nvidia DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 3.0T to help alleviate hardware demands. A built-in benchmark tool is included to assist players in optimizing performance.
Gears of War: E-Day is set to launch on October 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, and will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass. The game explores the initial conflict between humanity and the Locust on the planet Sera.
