Resident Evil Remakes Now Playable on Nintendo Switch

Capcom has expanded the reach of its acclaimed Resident Evil remakes, bringing Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 to the Nintendo Switch. These ports allow players to experience the survival horror classics on Nintendo's hybrid console.

The availability of these titles on the Switch marks a significant addition to the platform's library, offering modern takes on beloved games that were previously exclusive to other systems. The ports aim to deliver the same acclaimed gameplay and atmosphere that have defined the series for many players.

Resident Evil 2, originally released in 1998 and reimagined in 2019, follows rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they navigate a zombie-infested Raccoon City. Resident Evil 3, a 2020 remake of the 1999 original, centers on Jill Valentine's desperate escape from the terrifying Nemesis. The most recent addition, Resident Evil 4 (2023), is a modern overhaul of the 2005 action-horror masterpiece, placing Leon S. Kennedy on a rescue mission in a remote European village.

With these releases, Nintendo Switch owners can now dive into these critically lauded remakes, experiencing their tense narratives, challenging gameplay, and immersive environments on the go or docked at home.
