Amazon has initiated a sale featuring numerous Pokémon DVDs, providing an opportunity for collectors to acquire physical media ahead of the official Black Friday sales events. While Blu-ray releases are available for later seasons, earlier seasons have not received this treatment, and only a remastered first season Blu-ray is currently discounted.
The Blu-ray edition of Pokémon: Indigo League, Season 1, offers higher resolution compared to DVD's 480p, resulting in sharper animation. However, this Blu-ray set contains the first 52 episodes of the Indigo League arc, whereas the DVD version includes all 78 episodes.
A notable upcoming release is the "Pokémon: 24-Movie Collection," presented in a Pokéball-themed Blu-ray set. This collection is priced at $400 and is slated for release on December 22, 2026. It is an Amazon Exclusive and marked as a limited edition, suggesting that pre-orders may be necessary to secure a copy before it potentially sells out.
Despite these early deals, Amazon has not yet announced its official Black Friday sale dates. Historically, the retailer introduces its most significant discounts on Blu-ray and DVD collections closer to Thanksgiving. Consumers interested in purchasing physical Pokémon media might consider waiting a few weeks for potentially better deals. Amazon is generally considered a prime destination for discounted Blu-rays during Black Friday, often featuring competitive pricing and Buy One, Get One promotions.
