Woot is offering the first discount on the recently released Apple AirPods 5, with active noise cancellation, for $119. The deal is available for today only and includes a $10 instant discount. Amazon Prime members receive free shipping, while others will incur a $5 delivery fee. This marks the lowest price for AirPods featuring noise-canceling technology.
The AirPods 5, released on September 19, 2026, now include noise cancellation as a standard feature across all models, a change from previous generations where it was an additional cost. The earbuds also come with Live Translation as a standard feature. Enhancements include a more durable IP57-rated shell and the Apple H2 chip, which offers an improved Transparency Mode. Other functionalities remain consistent with prior models.
Distinguishing the AirPods 5 from the more expensive AirPods Pro 3 is their design. The AirPods 5 are open-ear earbuds that rest outside the ear canal, whereas the AirPods Pro are in-ear earbuds that seal the ear canal with adjustable tips. The choice between them depends on user preference, with in-ear models generally offering better audio quality and noise cancellation due to passive noise isolation, while open-ear models are less intrusive and allow for greater environmental awareness. Price is also a significant consideration.
