Black Friday, the largest annual sales event, is set to offer discounts across numerous retailers, with many sales now primarily occurring online. This year, the official Black Friday falls on November 27, but retailers are already rolling out early deals.
Black Friday Sale Schedule
While the main event is November 27, several retailers have announced earlier sale start dates. Best Buy's Black Friday sale begins on November 19, followed by Walmart on November 23. Target and Costco will launch their Black Friday sales concurrently with the official date, November 27. Early deals have already commenced, with Target offering a sale from November 5-7 and Best Buy starting its early promotions on November 6.
Expected Deals
Significant discounts are anticipated for 4K TVs, computer monitors, and projectors, as Black Friday remains the optimal time to purchase these items. Apple products, including AirPods, iPads, and Apple Watches, are also expected to see their lowest prices of the year. Retailers often compete on Apple devices to drive online traffic. Consumers looking for toy deals may find discounts on less popular items and older LEGO sets nearing retirement. Physical media, such as books, 4K Blu-rays, board games, and vinyl records, are likely to be featured in various sales, including Buy One, Get One offers at Amazon and Target. Deals on physical video games for Nintendo, Xbox, and PS5 are also expected to appear before Black Friday.
Products Unlikely to See Discounts
Despite the widespread sales, certain categories are unlikely to receive significant price reductions. The current market conditions have led to price increases for video game consoles like the Switch 2, Xbox, and PS5, making substantial discounts improbable, especially with the release of Grand Theft Auto VI preceding Black Friday. Nintendo Switch 2 bundles may offer minor savings on games and accessories.
Gaming PCs, GPUs, and RAM are also facing a challenging year due to increased AI usage and ongoing shortages, driving up prices. While some discounts may exist, they are expected to be less substantial than in previous years, with high-end gaming rigs likely to remain above $1,500. Furthermore, the resurgence of physical media has made 4K Blu-ray players scarce and expensive, making it unlikely to find them at a low price during Black Friday sales.
