Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of Frankenstein has received a significant price reduction, dropping to 50% off its retail price in The Criterion Collection's November sale. This promotion brings the 4K UHD edition of the film to a new low, available until December 7.

IGN awarded del Toro's Frankenstein a 9 out of 10, praising its focus on tragedy, romance, and redemption over straightforward horror, while still incorporating "plenty of gore or creepy moments." The film, which initially debuted on Netflix, is now available in the Criterion Collection, with its 4K UHD and Blu-ray editions included in the current sale.

The Criterion release features a 4K digital master of both the theatrical version and a new extended director's cut, dubbed Frankenstein: The Reborn Cut, both with Dolby Atmos soundtracks. The set includes two 4K UHD discs with Dolby Vision HDR and two Blu-rays containing the films and special features. Among the bonus content are new audio commentary on The Reborn Cut with del Toro, a documentary titled The Anatomy Lesson: Director’s Cut, and a collection of conversations on craft titled The Parlour, featuring del Toro, actors Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Oscar Isaac, along with other key members of the production team. The release also includes Q&As moderated by Martin Scorsese and Patti Smith, an interview with composer Alexandre Desplat, a trailer, and an essay by scholar Christopher Frayling.

This sale encompasses all Criterion titles released before November 6, excluding preorders. Other titles, such as KPop Demon Hunters, are also included in the promotion.
