Best Buy's early Black Friday sale includes a significant discount on the iBuyPower Slate GeForce RTX 5060 gaming PC, bringing its price down to $899.99 with free shipping after a $500 instant rebate. This offer positions the prebuilt system as a budget-friendly option for gamers looking for a machine under $1,000.
The iBuyPower Slate is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 8400F processor, an RTX 5060 8GB GPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Ryzen 5 8400F, a 6-core, 12-thread CPU with a boost clock of up to 4.7GHz, is noted as being suitable for gaming, especially since most titles do not require more than six cores.
The RTX 5060 graphics card is highlighted as a strong budget choice for 1080p gaming, offering a performance increase of approximately 20-30% over its predecessor, the RTX 4060. This uplift is further enhanced by the potential of DLSS 4 with multi-frame generation, allowing for consistent frame rates of 60fps or higher in most games at 1080p. However, for higher resolutions such as 1440p or 4K, an upgrade to an RTX 5060 Ti (16GB) or a more powerful GPU is recommended.
When compared to the Steam Machine, which retails for $1,049 and features a less powerful CPU and a GPU comparable to the Radeon RX 7600 or RTX 4060, the iBuyPower Slate presents a superior value proposition. The RTX 5060-equipped rig is expected to provide at least a 20-30% performance advantage while costing $150 less.
