Walmart is currently hosting a special event for Pokémon Trading Card Game collectors, featuring a raffle for several in-demand products, including the 30th Anniversary's Ultra Premium Collection and the new Delta Reign set. This sale presents some of the best prices available for these items, often undercutting competitors like Target and GameStop, as well as the secondary market.

The event, dubbed "Walmart Wednesday," includes six Pokémon TCG items. Five of these are pre-orders for products releasing on November 6th, such as the final wave of 30th Anniversary items and new releases from the Delta Reign set. A box from the Prismatic Evolutions set is also available.

The featured items and their prices are:

  • Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collection, Day and Night: $224.97 (MSRP: $179.99)
  • Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Ditto Premium Collection: $49.97 (MSRP: $39.99)
  • Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box: $60.00 (MSRP: $49.99)
  • Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Delta Reign Booster Bundle: $34.97 (MSRP: $26.94)
  • Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Delta Reign 3 Pack Blister: $15.97 (MSRP: $14.99)
  • Pokémon Trading Card Game Scarlet & Violet Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box: $69.00 (MSRP: $49.99)

While most items have a slight markup, Walmart's pricing remains competitive. For instance, the Ultra Premium Collection (UPC) is listed at $249.99 at Target and Barnes & Noble, and $399.99 at GameStop. Cheaper options are limited to the official Pokémon Center, which is prone to bot interference, or Best Buy, which may require in-person queuing. Walmart offers free shipping for its products. Given the difficulties encountered with the UPC's release, this convenience is significant. The Delta Reign 3-pack blister is priced very close to its MSRP.

The sale operates via a raffle system. Participants express interest in the products, and Walmart randomly selects winners. While there's no guarantee of winning, there is no cost to enter.

The entry period for the raffle begins at 2:00 p.m. PST and lasts for one hour. Winners are usually notified the following morning, with selections occurring in waves. Some participants may receive confirmation emails up to 72 hours after the raffle concludes. Winners are charged automatically, while non-winners receive no notification.

To enter, users need a Walmart account with a saved payment profile and can access the drawings through Walmart's collectibles section online.

Notably, The Pokémon Company has not yet announced sales for the UPC on its official storefront, despite its upcoming release. This unusual delay makes alternative avenues like Walmart's raffle an attractive option for collectors. Walmart's timing coincides with Target's recent introduction of its own Pokémon drawing system, but Walmart's focus on competitive pricing appears to be its main draw for consumers.
