Amazon has opened up invite requests for the translucent green Xbox Series X | X25 Special Edition console, offering fans a new opportunity to secure the limited-edition hardware. This special release commemorates the 25th anniversary of Xbox and initially sold out rapidly during its August preorder window.
Unlike the previous first-come, first-served preorder approach, Amazon's invite system allows interested buyers to request an invitation. This does not guarantee a purchase, as Amazon states, “Not all requests will be granted.” Those who receive an invitation will be notified via email when the console becomes available.
The X25 Special Edition console is slated for release on November 13 and is priced at $909.23. Production is limited to 25,000 numbered units, contributing to the difficulty in obtaining one.
Each console features a 1TB Xbox Series X with a translucent green design, an X25 logo on the front, and a glowing green X logo when powered on. The package also includes a matching X25 Special Edition controller, which is also available for separate purchase, and a digital copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved, a remake of the original Halo campaign.
The X25 Special Edition controller is currently available at select retailers.
The console has proven to be a popular item, appealing to those who appreciate its design and its celebration of Xbox's 25-year history. Interested parties are encouraged to request an invite for a chance to purchase.
