Showrunner Ira Parker has revealed his enthusiasm for developing future seasons of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the upcoming prequel series to HBO's Game of Thrones. Parker indicated that he is actively working with George R.R. Martin, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, on plans for potential future installments.
While specific details about the narrative direction or content of these future seasons were not disclosed, Parker's comments suggest a collaborative effort with Martin to expand the world established in the original novels and the forthcoming series. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on Martin's 2005 novella "The Hedge Knight," which follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg, 90 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The series is set to premiere in 2025.
