Fans of Adventure Time can finally experience the entire series in high definition. A complete Blu-ray collection, encompassing all 10 seasons and 283 episodes, is scheduled for release on October 20. This marks the first time the full series will be available on Blu-ray, with previous home video releases in North America limited to DVD.
The new set is currently available for preorder, with pricing varying across retailers. Gruv and Walmart list the complete series for $74.99, while Amazon's preorder price is set at $89.99. Gruv, operating as a direct storefront for Warner Bros. which owns Cartoon Network, may be offering the lower price point. Amazon's preorder price guarantee suggests it may eventually match the lower prices.
The Blu-ray packaging is expected to mirror the existing DVD release's green design, featuring the Blu-ray logo. Previous reviews of Adventure Time season Blu-rays, such as IGN's 2013 assessment of Season 1, noted an "impeccable" conversion and colorful quality, suggesting the upcoming complete series set will maintain similar visual fidelity.
Consolidating the content from 22 DVD discs, the Blu-ray set will utilize 12 discs. It will include the same bonus features as the DVD version, such as a retrospective documentary with the cast and crew, a documentary on the show's music, live performances, and audio commentaries. The original series concluded in 2018, but its legacy continues with spin-off series like Fionna and Cake, the recently premiered Adventure Time: Side Quests, and a forthcoming Adventure Time movie in development.
