Ahsoka Season 2 is slated to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027. The announcement arrived during Disney's D23 fan event, with IGN reporting on the unfolding news. This marks the second season for the series starring Rosario Dawson in the titular role, picking up the story of the former Jedi and her allies as they confront the invasion led by Grand Admiral Thrawn and explore a neighboring galaxy.

The narrative thread involving Thrawn was originally intended as a central element for the now-canceled fourth season of The Mandalorian. The shift in Lucasfilm's plans, particularly the decision to develop "The Mandalorian and Grogu" for theatrical release, raises questions about how the storylines for Ahsoka may have been adjusted.

Hayden Christensen is confirmed to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker, appearing in further scenes. His previous appearance in Season 1 was through Star Wars' extradimensional concept, The World Between Worlds. The expanded role for Anakin and further exploration of The World Between Worlds could introduce new narrative possibilities for the franchise.

Disney has recently reduced its output of live-action Star Wars series, following a period of multiple limited series such as "Obi-Wan Kenobi" and "The Book of Boba Fett," which received mixed critical reception. Neither "Skeleton Crew" nor "The Acolyte" have had a significant impact, with no plans for second seasons for either show.

Season 2 of Ahsoka will also feature actor Rory McCann as Baylan Skoll, stepping into the role following the passing of Ray Stevenson. Returning cast members include Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn.
