The second season of Netflix's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime is slated for a Fall 2026 release, with animation once again handled by Studio Trigger. The upcoming season will consist of 10 episodes and introduce a new cast of characters navigating Night City.
Among the new faces viewers will meet are Weak Kinglsey, a former edgerunner clinging to past glories; D, a young man from the Snake Nation nomads seeking vengeance for his family's killers; Talia Yang, a thrill-seeker augmented with cybernetics; and Roman Carax, a cinephile. These new misfits are set to embark on their own perilous journeys in the dystopian metropolis.
A full trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is expected to debut soon. The announcement follows the considerable success of the first season, which launched several years ago and spurred numerous spin-offs, including comic books, a board game, and video game crossovers, alongside a downloadable content expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. The series is a prime example of Netflix's growing portfolio of video game adaptations, which also includes popular shows like Castlevania and Arcane.
Development on Cyberpunk 2, the game sequel, is ongoing at CD Projekt Red, with some reports suggesting it may feature online multiplayer. The original game, Cyberpunk 2077, has continued to receive updates and enhancements, including a recent upgrade for the PlayStation 5 Pro.
