Netflix has released a new trailer and accompanying images for the upcoming second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, offering fans a glimpse into the high-octane action and profound tragedy set to unfold in Night City. The English-language trailer premiered at Anime NYC, introducing viewers to Weak Kingsley, voiced by Clancy Brown. Kingsley is depicted as a veteran edgerunner succumbing to cyberpsychosis, engaging in what the notes describe as "typical Cyberpunk stuff."

The trailer also features Kingsley accepting an assignment from a distressed mother concerning her daughter and shows him by the bedside of Talia Yang. "Losing yourself… that’s worse than death," Kingsley states in a voiceover, underscoring the perilous nature of life in Night City.

Viewers are also introduced to D, a nomad from the Snake Nation, who questions his survival and motivations. "Those burns… I didn’t know anyone else survived. You’ve been out for blood? All this time?" he asks. The footage includes scenes of a burning campsite, the characteristic violence of Night City, and a shot of Talia in the rain. D and Roman Carax are seen standing by a burning corpse in the desert, with Roman questioning D's identity: "You’re a weapon? A weapon made out of people?"

Text overlays in the trailer proclaim, "In Night City, the lines between redemption and revenge will blur. Night City will burn again."

New images showcase Roman Carax, D, and Kingsley. One image highlights Kingsley exhibiting the physical symptoms of cyberpsychosis, while another depicts him confronting a MaxTac hovercraft with a pistol. Studio Trigger is expected to reveal more details at an upcoming panel at Anime NYC.

Fans may recall that the ending of the first season was less severe than originally conceived, with writer Bartosz Sztybor noting that "there were even worse endings" for the characters David and his companions. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is a standalone 10-episode story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and is scheduled for release on October 20.
