Dropout has released a new trailer for Um, Actually season 11, signaling the nerdy quiz show's return in a matter of weeks. The season will once again culminate in a Tournament of Champions, led by Brennan Lee Mulligan and Critical Role’s Matt Mercer. The trailer confirms a lineup that includes Erika Ishii and a host of returning players, with new episodes set to begin on Tuesday, January 20 and to stream on Dropout.tv every other week.
The Tournament of Champions brings together past Um, Actually winners to face off against one another, and this season features Jordan Myrick, Angela Giarratana, Zac Oyama, Jarvis Johnson, Ally Beardsley, and Oscar Montoya among the competitors. Dimension 20 veterans Emily Axford and Brian Murphy will team up for a special tag-team episode, forming one of three pairs in the crossover format. Iwy Nwadiwe returns for his third season as host, with Brian David Gilbert acting as fact checker.
Unlike a traditional trivia show, Um, Actually presents statements about popular video games, books, movies, and other pop culture. In each item, one element is incorrect; contestants buzz in to offer a correction, and the correction must begin with the prompt phrase um, actually to earn a point. The show’s fans can also engage at home with the Um, Actually... Board Game, which echoes the same premise in a family-friendly format.
