The cast and premise for Family Guy's upcoming spinoff, Stewie, have been revealed, with creator Seth MacFarlane set to voice the titular character. The new series will follow Stewie's misadventures in kindergarten after he is expelled from his previous preschool. MacFarlane will also voice Bean, a classmate with a minimal speaking role described as having been "dropped on his head one too many times."
Mike Henry, a veteran of Family Guy, joins the cast as BJ, the son of Bruce Straight, a character he also voices. Kenan Thompson, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, will portray Royal, a classmate characterized by a "Hell no' attitude about the hazards of Stewie's adventures."
Other cast members include Melissa O'Neil as Wanda, a character Stewie will develop a crush on, and Aaron Lee as Skunk, the kindergarten class's 100-year-old turtle. While not initially listed, Deadline previously reported that Brian, Stewie's loyal dog companion from Family Guy, will make recurring appearances.
The synopsis outlines a less-than-ideal educational environment, featuring a "handful of kids he doesn't know, an elderly class turtle with a half-cocked theory on just about everything, and a teacher who probably shouldn't be allowed anywhere near kids." The series aims to transform "every boring day at school into an insane and unforgettable adventure" through Stewie's use of various devices.
Stewie is slated to debut during the 2027-2028 television season and has already secured a two-season order. Seth MacFarlane is credited as a co-creator and executive producer. The series will be showrun by Kirker Butler, a writer with over two decades of experience on Family Guy, who has also penned episodes for the now-concluded The Cleveland Show and Only Murders in the Building.
