Filming for Fast Forever, the next and reportedly final chapter in the Fast & Furious saga, is set to begin this December, according to star Vin Diesel. He shared the update with Variety ahead of a 25th-anniversary screening of the original 2001 film, The Fast and the Furious.
Diesel stated that he is "in a good place" regarding the film's development, although he noted the project has gone through four sets of writers and four years of development to reach its current script. He described reading the completed script as an emotional experience, telling Variety that he was moved to tears and had to inform the crew of his reaction.
Previously, a video featuring Diesel in character as Dominic Toretto, standing beside the iconic 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, had suggested that production was already underway. However, this was later clarified to be related to a World Cup promotional event. The film, which is officially titled Fast Forever, has a cinematic release date of March 17, 2028. Details regarding the cast and other aspects of the production remain scarce.
