Filming for The Batman: Part 2 has commenced in Glasgow, Scotland, with the Batmobile making an early appearance. Videos of the heavily modified muscle car surfaced across social media on August 17, showing the vehicle in an undisclosed location within the city. Fans quickly identified the car, with many expressing approval of the design's continuation from the first film.

Production crews are expected to occupy several major routes in Glasgow for three weeks, beginning August 18. Affected areas include Wellington Street, Bothwell Street, the Glasgow Bridge, and the Broomielaw quay. To facilitate the shoots and maintain the Gotham City aesthetic, large murals that were part of an art and graffiti festival on the Kingston Bridge pillars have been covered up. This alteration has drawn mixed reactions from some locals, who view it as a disservice to the artists and the city's urban landscape.

Glasgow has become a popular filming location for superhero productions. Most recently, the city was transformed into Manhattan for scenes in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland. The Batman: Part 2 is not the first time the city has stood in for Gotham; filming for the original The Batman in February 2020 utilized Glasgow's necropolis cemetery for key scenes involving Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz.

The Batman: Part 2 is currently slated for a 2028 release, having faced two previous delays. The initial release was planned for 2025, but production schedules were impacted by Warner Bros.' impending sale, which has also encountered legal challenges and is currently on hold until 2027 or until related lawsuits are resolved.
