Guillermo del Toro's take on Frankenstein is set to receive a physical release as part of the Criterion Collection on October 27. Preorders for the 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD editions are now available, offering fans a chance to secure a copy of the film's deluxe presentation.

The Criterion Collection edition features new artwork by artist Denver Balbaboco, depicting Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as the creature in a dramatic, classical art style. This release is also packed with bonus features, including an extended director's cut of the film titled "Frankenstein: The Reborn Cut," which runs 158 minutes.

Additional special features include a new audio commentary on "The Reborn Cut" with director Guillermo del Toro, a documentary on the film's making titled "The Anatomy Lesson: Director’s Cut," and "The Parlour," a collection of conversations on craft featuring del Toro, actors Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Oscar Isaac, cinematographer Dan Laustsen, production designer Tamara Deverell, costume designer Kate Hawley, and creature designer Mike Hill. The release also includes Q&As moderated by filmmaker Martin Scorsese and musician Patti Smith, an interview with composer Alexandre Desplat, and the film's trailer.

While bonus features are largely consistent across the 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD formats, there are minor distinctions. The 4K and Blu-ray editions will offer Dolby Atmos soundtracks for both the theatrical and extended director's cuts. The 4K version includes two 4K UHD discs with Dolby Vision HDR presentation and two Blu-rays containing the films and special features.

IGN's original review of Frankenstein described it as "a crowning achievement for the beloved genre director and one of the most effective adaptations of the Mary Shelley story ever put to film." This Criterion Collection release provides an opportunity for enthusiasts to own a comprehensive edition of the acclaimed film.
