IGN has released exclusive new concept art for Na Hong-jin's upcoming sci-fi action film, Hope. The artwork, created by Parallax Studios, depicts the extraterrestrial creatures that crash-land near the film's setting of Hope Harbor. These aliens will be the antagonists for the film's protagonists: the local police chief, a sergeant, and a group of hunters.
Hope premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where IGN's critic Siddhant Adlakha awarded it a 9/10. In his review, Adlakha described the film as a "gonzo sensory assault with an action-comedy-thriller saga of a small town beset by forces much larger than itself." He also praised the "peculiar structure" and "malformed creature designs" that "bring cultural paranoia into a riveting clash with nature," adding that the film delivers "nonstop blast with the kind of low-to-the-ground vehicular and horseback action that’ll have you falling off the front of your seat."
The film stars Hwang Junh-Min, Zo In-Sung, Hoyeon Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender. Hope opened in approximately 1,500 U.S. theaters on September 9, marking the widest domestic theatrical release for a Korean-language film since Parasite.
