Curry Barker's horror film "Obsession" has made its digital debut, becoming available for premium video-on-demand rental and purchase. The film, which has enjoyed a significant box office run, can now be rented for $19.99 or bought for $24.99. Additionally, "Obsession" is available for preorder on Blu-ray, with a release date set for July 14. Both the digital and Blu-ray versions will feature bonus content, including a behind-the-scenes featurette titled "Obsession Unleashed."
The digital release comes after the film spent over two months in theaters, exceeding expectations and becoming Focus Features' highest-grossing movie to date. It has grossed over $370 million worldwide and has secured a spot among the top 20 highest-grossing horror films of all time.
Originally, the digital release was slated for June 2, but it was delayed. This delay allowed the film to capitalize on its strong theatrical performance, which saw it earn back its budget during its opening weekend and continue to increase its weekly earnings. The surprise digital launch suggests the film's theatrical run is winding down, though some showtimes may still be available.
"Obsession" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in late 2025. The film centers on a romantic who makes a wish to win over his crush, only to discover that his desires come with a dark price.
