Jamie Lynn Spears has addressed persistent rumors that her former Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101, was canceled due to her teen pregnancy. Speaking on the Momarchy Podcast, Spears stated that the notion is untrue and that the show's conclusion was pre-planned.

Spears, who became pregnant with her first child at 16, acknowledged that the timing of her pregnancy coincided with the airing of the show's final season, leading to public speculation. However, she explained that the entire fourth season had already been filmed and was always intended to be the series' last, irrespective of her personal circumstances. "We were done shooting, completely done shooting. The rest of the season hadn't aired, and that's how it is in entertainment," Spears clarified. She elaborated that viewers unfamiliar with the production cycle often misunderstand that filming concludes long before episodes are broadcast, sometimes up to a year in advance.

"We were wrapped. We were always wrapped. There was never going to be another season. My beautiful Maddie is not the reason the show ended," she asserted, referring to her daughter. Spears mentioned that her daughter is aware of the ongoing online speculation, particularly on TikTok, and that they often joke about the misconception. Ultimately, Zoey 101 concluded after its planned four-season run. Spears and several of her former Zoey 101 castmates reunited in 2023 for Zoey 102, a sequel film to the original series.
