A new preview of the upcoming Street Fighter movie offers an extended look at a confrontation between Ryu, portrayed by Andrew Koji, and Jason Momoa's Blanka. The scene unfolds within a caged arena, with Blanka initially chained before being unleashed upon Ryu by M. Bison's goons.

Early in the fight, Blanka utilizes his signature electrocution power, manifesting in an x-ray skeleton visual effect familiar to fans of the fighting game franchise. He also initiates the battle with a cannonball attack, a common opening move for Blanka players in the games, followed by a roundhouse kick and his iconic drop kick, which sends Ryu careening across the arena.

Ryu attempts to de-escalate, expressing a desire to avoid combat, but Blanka responds with a grim "then, you die." The preview culminates with Ryu charging a fireball that explodes against the arena wall, seemingly creating an escape route. This sequence provides the most detailed look yet at Blanka's portrayal in the film, with Momoa's performance featuring a distinctive vocal tone that suggests the character may not be a mere beast.

The film's narrative is set in 1993, focusing on estranged fighters Ryu and Ken Masters, played by Noah Centineo. They are drawn back into the world of combat by Chun-Li, portrayed by Callina Liang, who is organizing the next World Warrior Tournament. The synopsis hints at a deeper conspiracy underlying the tournament, forcing Ryu and Ken to confront both external threats and their personal pasts. The film is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026.

Other cast members include David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, and Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson as Balrog, among others.
