DC Studios is developing a new John Constantine movie, with Francis Galluppi attached to write the script. Galluppi is known for his work on the upcoming 'Evil Dead Wrath'.
The project is in its early stages, and it remains unclear if Galluppi will also direct. No casting details have been announced.
John Constantine, a character created by Alan Moore, Steve Bissette, and John Totleben, is a British occult detective. A film adaptation starring Keanu Reeves was released in 2005, and a sequel has been rumored for years. Reeves himself provided an update in late 2025, stating a new draft of the 'Constantine 2' script was completed and would be presented to DC Studios. It is unknown if Galluppi's script will serve as a continuation of Reeves' film or a new interpretation of the character.
Galluppi's 'Evil Dead Wrath,' a prequel to the 1981 film 'The Evil Dead,' is set to be released on April 7, 2028. He developed the story for the franchise in 2024, earning critical praise for his debut feature, 'The Last Stop in Yuma County.' Franchise creator Sam Raimi previously praised Galluppi's storytelling ability, noting his control in building tension and delivering explosive violence.
