Lizzy Caplan, known for her roles in "Masters of Sex" and "Mean Girls," has been cast in the upcoming anthology series based on Ubisoft's "Far Cry" video game franchise. Caplan is the second actor to join the project, following Rob McElhenney of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," who is also serving as an executive producer.

Noah Hawley, the creator behind "Fargo" and "Alien Earth," is showrunning and executive producing the series. Hawley recently commented on the challenges of adapting video game narratives for television, suggesting that the typical structure of gameplay and cutscenes may not translate well to compelling drama. He stated that the "Far Cry" show aims to engage in a "dialogue" with the franchise rather than directly adapt specific game stories.

The series will follow an anthology format, with each season featuring a different cast and setting, similar to shows like "True Detective" or "The White Lotus." Specific details regarding the plot and release date for the "Far Cry" series have not yet been revealed.
