Mark Hamill, renowned for his iconic role as Luke Skywalker and his extensive voice acting, including a celebrated turn as the Joker, is set to join the cast of Peacock's Twisted Metal for its third season. He will portray Pope Charlie Kane in a recurring capacity.

In the Twisted Metal games, Charlie Kane is the father of the notorious Sweet Tooth, the killer clown whose ice cream truck serves as his primary vehicle. While Sweet Tooth, also known as Needles Kane, is associated with an ice cream truck, Charlie Kane pilots the Yellow Jacket, often depicted as a taxi-like vehicle. In the TV series adaptation, Charlie Kane leads a faction called The Eastern Sovereignty.

Anthony Mackie, who stars as protagonist John Doe and executive produces the series, expressed his enthusiasm for Hamill's casting. "For Mark Hamill to come into this world with us is amazing," Mackie stated. "He's someone I've admired for a long time - a true legend who's influenced generations of actors. Being able to now call him a castmate is an incredible honor, and we're excited to see what he brings to the world of Twisted Metal."

Alongside Mackie, the series features Joe Seanoa as Sweet Tooth (voiced by Will Arnett), Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet, and Anthony Carrigan as Calypso. The show's third season renewal followed strong viewership numbers, with Peacock reporting that the series became its "second highest-reaching original returning scripted season" after accumulating 993 million minutes viewed. The first season of Twisted Metal garnered a nomination for Best Adaptation at the 2023 Game Awards, though the award ultimately went to HBO's The Last of Us.
