Marvel Studios has officially slated its upcoming Ghost Rider film for a July 28, 2028 release. The announcement comes after an initial reveal at San Diego Comic-Con, where the movie was given a broader 2028 window.

This film, alongside Black Panther 3 (scheduled for December 15, 2028) and the MCU's first X-Men film (May 5, 2028), is expected to form Marvel's theatrical slate for 2028. These projects are intended to help redefine the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the events of Avengers: Secret Wars. While continuity elements like Shuri and M'Baku are confirmed for Black Panther 3, Marvel aims for Secret Wars to serve as a new entry point into the MCU.

Ryan Gosling is attached to star as Ghost Rider, a role he reportedly championed. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Gosling personally pitched the film and brought director Shawn Levy onboard, following their collaboration on Star Wars: Starfighter. Details regarding the plot of the Ghost Rider film remain scarce, but production is anticipated to begin early next year with the commencement of filming.

The post-Avengers: Secret Wars slate is shaping up with the additions of the X-Men film and Ghost Rider, alongside the continued Black Panther franchise. Marvel appears poised to maintain momentum as it moves beyond its current major crossover event.
