Netflix presented a substantial lineup of upcoming animated projects at Anime NYC, showcasing exclusive trailers and visuals for a range of series. The announcements included updates on established titles and new original productions.

New and Returning Series

"Bass X Machina," a gritty Western adult animated series set in a Steampunk universe, received its official teaser trailer and new images. The show, featuring Brian Tyree Henry as the titular character Bass Reeves, is set to restore law to the Wild West amidst threats from deadly automatons and outlaws. "Bass X Machina" is scheduled for release on November 3, 2026.

"Blue Eye Samurai" will return for its second season in January 2027, with a trailer depicting Mizu's perilous journey to London. Netflix also confirmed that the series has been greenlit for a third and final season, which will conclude Mizu's quest for revenge.

Fans can anticipate "Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2," with a new English-language trailer offering a glimpse into the story of four main characters in Night City. This standalone, 10-episode season, set in the world of "Cyberpunk 2077," is slated for release on October 20, 2026.

"Fool Night," an anime adaptation of Kasumi Yasuda's manga, is set to debut on Netflix on November 26, 2026. The series explores a future where humanity faces an oxygen shortage, leading to a practice where dying individuals transform into oxygen-producing plants in exchange for government compensation. A special featurette offered insights into the production's creative process.

"LEGO® ONE PIECE" will receive a special two-part animated treatment premiering on Netflix on September 29. This special appears to be Usopp's retelling of his adventures with Luffy, tying into the live-action adaptation.

"Sakamoto Days Season 2" also received an action-packed trailer, introducing three new characters: Amane, Etsuko Satoda, and Yotsumura, all featured in dynamic fight sequences. The second season is scheduled for release in January 2027.

The One Piece Reboot

Further details emerged regarding WiT Studio's "The One Piece" reboot, which is slated to air in February 2027. This new adaptation aims to retell the original story in a more streamlined manner for newcomers. The first season will consist of seven episodes, covering the initial 50 chapters of the manga, culminating in Luffy's encounter with Sanji. This approach contrasts with the original "One Piece" anime's extensive episode count.

In addition to these Netflix announcements, "Kingdom Hearts" is also receiving an animated series on Disney+ with significant involvement from Tetsuya Nomura.
