Apple TV+ has announced that the highly anticipated series adaptation of William Gibson's "Neuromancer" will premiere on January 22, 2027. The reveal came during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where showrunner Graham Roland shared insights into the project and debuted a fast-paced teaser trailer.
Roland emphasized the timeliness of adapting the 1984 novel, noting how Gibson's early concepts of cyberspace and the intersection of artificial and human intelligence have become realities. "Now, we’re living in a world 40 years later where these things are a part of our everyday lives," Roland stated. "It's an appropriate time to revisit the text, to put it in a new light now that these things are here."
The series centers on Case, played by Callum Turner, a "console cowboy" and criminal protagonist. Roland highlighted Turner's dedication to the role, noting that the series is very much Case's story. "Callum threads that needle. He's able to play the dangerous part of Case, inhabit the humanity and charisma," Roland explained, stressing the importance of charisma to carry the narrative across ten episodes.
While Turner was absent from the panel, he sent a video message that included the teaser. The trailer offers a glimpse of Briana Middleton as Molly, known as 'razorgirl' for her mirrored eyes and sharp fingernails, and Mark Strong as Armitage. The visuals are described as dark, gritty, and intense, reflecting the cyberpunk setting of the novel.
This latest preview follows a 25-second clip released two weeks prior, which featured a retro computer console and the iconic opening line from Gibson's novel: "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel."
William Gibson serves as an executive producer on the series alongside Roland, JD Dillard, and Jennifer Haley. Dillard directed the initial three episodes. The ten-episode season will debut on January 22, 2027, with new episodes releasing weekly on Fridays through March 19, 2027.
