Apple TV is set to release a new holiday special, "12 Days of Snoopy," continuing the legacy of Charles M. Schulz's beloved "Peanuts" characters. The announcement comes 60 years after the original "A Charlie Brown Christmas" first aired on CBS in 1965.
The upcoming special, part of the "Snoopy Presents" series, will debut on November 13. An official trailer has been released, showcasing the gang's latest winter adventure. The synopsis describes Snoopy finding himself on Santa's naughty list and embarking on a mission to prove he's a good beagle, ultimately discovering the true spirit of Christmas extends beyond gifts.
Under an agreement with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson Film Productions, Apple TV holds exclusive streaming rights to both existing and new "Peanuts" content through 2030. This partnership recently brought "Snoopy Presents: There's No Place Like Home, Snoopy" to the platform in July. "12 Days of Snoopy" is a production of Peanuts and WildBrain.
A notable aspect of the new special is its soundtrack, featuring original music from several acclaimed artists. The score is composed by Emmy Award-nominated Jeff Morrow, a frequent contributor to "Snoopy" productions. The confirmed musical lineup includes:
- "Get Ready" by John Legend, produced by Raphael Saadiq.
- “Trying To Get There” by Kamasi Washington, featuring Leon Bridges.
- “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” performed by Laufey, produced by Spencer Stewart.
While the exact runtime has not been confirmed, "Peanuts" specials typically run for about half an hour.
