Legendary has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming Street Fighter film, offering a glimpse of E. Honda performing his iconic moves and hinting at significant tension between Ryu and Ken. The movie is scheduled to premiere on October 16.

The trailer features several core Street Fighter characters engaging in combat within familiar settings. E. Honda is shown facing off against Ryu in his distinctive bathhouse stage, executing his Sumo Headbutt and the rapid-fire Hundred Hand Slap. The sequence suggests Ryu is initially at a disadvantage before retaliating with a Tatsumaki.

Further into the trailer, Ryu and Ken are depicted fighting in a dark alleyway, indicating a falling out between the two. This conflict appears to stem from Ryu's self-imposed exile to explore a path influenced by the Dark Hadou, a phenomenon he describes as "darkness growing" within him. In contrast, Ken is shown struggling to perform a Hadouken in his opulent apartment, lamenting that he "spent years living in Ryu’s shadow" and vowing to "win it all" at M. Bison's World Warrior tournament. M. Bison's ultimate plan involves capturing the powers of the strongest fighters.

Chun-Li alerts Ryu to Ken's peril, urging him to intervene and save his friend. This narrative element potentially mirrors the 1994 animated film, where Bison captures Ken and transforms him into the brainwashed Violent Ken.

The trailer also introduces Cody Rhodes as Guile, portrayed as a sarcastic and witty character, a departure from his stoic in-game persona. Guile shares humorous dialogue, including a moment with Andrew Schulz's portrayal of Dan Hibiki. Additionally, Roman Reigns appears as Akuma, demonstrating the power of the Satsui no Hadou by lifting Alexander Volkanovski's character, Joe.

The nearly three-minute trailer offers numerous character appearances, including Vega (Orville Peck), Balrog (50 Cent), and Cammy (Mel Jarnson), among others. For additional details on the film adaptation of Capcom's fighting game series, insights from David Dastmalchian's interview regarding his portrayal of M. Bison and Shadaloo are also available.
