The show's premise centers on a team of young "World Builders" who must adapt their world as mysterious Tetrimino blocks begin to fall from the sky. Utilizing ingenuity and collaboration, these characters transform challenges into opportunities, reshaping their environment, solving community issues, and working together to build a better future. The series aims to introduce foundational STEAM concepts through its dynamic world of transformation and construction, drawing inspiration from Tetris's geometric puzzle mechanics and its universal language of logic and play.
Created by TeamTO producers Marco Balsamo and Tara Sibel Demren, with executive producer Chuck Williams (known for his work on video game adaptations), "Tetris: World Builders" was revealed at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Maya Rogers, president and CEO of The Tetris Company, stated that the series expands the Tetris universe by transforming the game into an adventure that encourages creativity, collaboration, and discovery, highlighting the potential that emerges when people build together.
