One Piece Celebrates Unprecedented Summer of Content and Merchandise

Fans of the long-running One Piece franchise are experiencing an exceptionally fruitful period, marked by a surge in new merchandise, ongoing Netflix adaptations, and the upcoming premiere of a new animated remake. This wave of content and product releases signifies a significant expansion for a series that has remained a cultural touchstone for nearly three decades.

The latest developments include new additions to the LEGO One Piece collection. Following the initial sets released in August 2025, six additional sets inspired by the second season of the live-action series are slated for release on August 1, 2026. These new sets will feature iconic settings such as Dr. Hiriluk’s Hideout, Garp’s Marine Battleship, and Drum Castle.

Further bolstering the franchise's presence on streaming, Netflix will debut a special animated feature on September 29, 2026. This two-part special is described as a retelling of the first two seasons of the live-action adaptation, with Usopp narrating the Straw Hats' adventures to Tony Tony Chopper.

Netflix's live-action adaptation itself continues to see success, with production on its third season having wrapped on June 30, 2026. The third season, which will cover the Alabasta arc from the manga and anime, was greenlit in August 2025 and began filming in November 2025. While a specific release date for season 3 is yet to be confirmed, Netflix has indicated that new episodes are expected sometime in 2027.

A significant milestone for international fans is the announcement of the first official "Mugiwara Store" in the United States. Toei Animation confirmed on July 3 that the store will open in Los Angeles at Westfield Century City this fall. The store is set to offer official merchandise, exclusive location-based products, original animation artwork, and in-store video experiences, catering to fans who have long sought official retail locations outside of Japan.

Perhaps the most anticipated event on the horizon is the highly awaited remake of the series, titled The One Piece. Produced by WIT Studio, known for its work on "Attack on Titan," "Spy x Family," and "Vinland Saga," this remake aims to provide a definitive adaptation with high production values. The series is scheduled to debut in early 2027, with the first trailer having recently been released. Further marketing efforts, including new trailers and casting announcements, are expected in the coming months as the premiere approaches.

These diverse releases and expansions demonstrate One Piece's enduring appeal and its successful transition into a global entertainment powerhouse, catering to anime purists, manga readers, live-action viewers, and merchandise collectors alike.
