The third season of Disney's Percy Jackson and the Olympians adaptation, set to premiere on November 20, will feature significant changes from Rick Riordan's novel "The Titan's Curse." Notably, the character of Nico di Angelo will play a more central role than he did in the book.

In the novel, Nico and his sister Bianca di Angelo are introduced. While Bianca joins Percy on a quest to find Annabeth and the goddess Artemis, Nico remains at Camp Half-Blood. This limits his presence in the narrative, which is told from Percy's point of view. However, the television series will expand Nico's storyline, offering viewers glimpses into his experiences at the camp.

Walker Scobell, who portrays Percy, confirmed that Nico will be "a bigger part of the entire season" and that the show will occasionally shift perspective to show Nico's activities. Levi Chrisopulos, cast as Nico, stated that while the show will retain key aspects of Nico's personality from the books, some adjustments have been made. Scobell and Chrisopulos also hinted at a developing mutual respect between Percy and Nico, stemming from their protective instincts toward loved ones, which is expected to set up important plot points for future seasons.

Cast and Creative Departures

Season 3 will see Scobell return as Percy Jackson, alongside Aryan Simhadri as Grover and Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth. Olive Abercrombie will play Bianca di Angelo. The season will also introduce Dafne Keen as Artemis, Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite, Ming-Na Wen as Hera, Jennifer Beals as Demeter, and Hubert Smielecki as Apollo. Holt McCallany is set to play Atlas, the season's antagonist.

This marks the first on-screen adaptation of "The Titan's Curse," as the previous two books in Riordan's series were adapted by 20th Century Fox. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series has five books in total, and Disney has not yet officially announced a renewal for a fourth season.
