Disney has released the official trailer for season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, offering a glimpse into the adaptation of Rick Riordan's 2007 novel, The Titan's Curse. The upcoming season appears to be the darkest yet for the series, setting the stage for Percy's quest to save Annabeth and pitting him against the titan Atlas.

The trailer reveals a significant expansion of the cast, with Dafne Keen as Artemis, Ming-Na Wen as Hera, and Kate McKinnon as Aphrodite joining the returning stars Walker Scobell (Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Anabeth), and Aryan Simhadri (Grover). The di Angelo twins, Bianca and Nico, played by Olive Abercrombie and Levi Chrisopulo respectively, are also prominently featured. The trailer does not yet show Rachel Elizabeth Dare, leaving her casting to be revealed at a later date.

Season 3 is slated to cover iconic locations and plot points from the book, including the Hoover Dam. While the series is taking some creative liberties with character interpretations, such as Annabeth and Nico, the shift in tone is expected to align with the increasingly serious narrative of the books. This season also marks a significant point in the adaptation's overall arc, as it moves closer to the conclusion of the original five-book series.

Despite the anticipation, Disney has not yet officially renewed Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a fourth season. This lack of confirmation is notable, especially given that season 3 was announced considerably earlier than season 2. With Disney also developing an adaptation of Riordan's Kane Chronicles, the future of the Percy Jackson series beyond its current planned run remains uncertain.

Season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ and Hulu on November 20.
