Rafe Spall has been cast as Arthur Weasley in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter television series, IGN reports. Spall, known for his roles in "Trying," "Life of Pi," and "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom," will portray the kind-hearted patriarch of the Weasley family, a character originally played by Mark Williams in the film adaptations.

Newcomers Molly Hewitt-Richards and Jasper Ambrose will take on the roles of Moaning Myrtle and Colin Creevey, respectively. Both characters first appeared in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." Myrtle is a ghostly student who haunts a girls' bathroom, while Creevey is a first-year student known for his enthusiastic photography.

These casting updates follow recent announcements for other key roles in the series' second season, including actors for Tom Riddle (the young Lord Voldemort), Dobby the house-elf, and a new portrayal for Ginny Weasley. Additionally, Kit Harington will now play Gilderoy Lockhart, replacing Tom Hoult due to filming delays.

Recent previews of the series' first season offered glimpses of Quidditch, Professor Snape, and the Sorting Hat. The first season is slated to premiere this Christmas, with the second season expected in late 2027 or 2028.
