Ryan Gosling is set to produce a live-action reboot of The Flintstones, with a focus on the character Bamm-Bamm. The project is currently in early development at Warner Bros. through Gosling's production company, Open Invite.
Gosling and his producing partner Jessie Henderson are reportedly seeking a writer to develop the script for the film. While details about the plot and casting remain scarce, the project aims to center on an adult version of Bamm-Bamm. Bamm-Bamm Rubble, the adopted son of Barney and Betty Rubble, was first introduced as a baby in the original 1960s Hanna-Barbera series. He later featured as a teenager in The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show and appeared in the 1994 live-action Flintstones movie.
Gosling has a busy schedule ahead, with upcoming roles in Star Wars: Starfighter and a Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance as Ghost Rider. His production company, Open Invite, is also set to premiere the romantic drama Love of Your Life at the Toronto International Film Festival. The potential for a Barbie sequel, following the massive success of the film where Gosling played Ken, has also been discussed, which could take precedence over other projects.
