Marvel Studios has officially announced a Ghost Rider film starring Ryan Gosling, with Shawn Levy, director of the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, set to helm the project. The news was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con during Marvel's Hall H presentation.
The film is slated for a 2028 release. Gosling and Levy appeared on stage to discuss the movie, marking their reunion after working together on next year's Star Wars: Starfighter.
Gosling had previously confirmed in March that he had been in discussions with Marvel about playing the character, describing the situation at the time as "complicated." The actor first expressed his interest in portraying the demonic motorcyclist in 2022, a sentiment that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige responded positively to, stating he would "love to find a place for him in the MCU."
The Ghost Rider logo was also revealed at the event. This announcement comes several years after Gosling's initial expression of interest and Feige's supportive remarks, indicating a long development period for the project.
