Swayvo Twain, son of musician D'Angelo, has been cast as The Notorious B.I.G. in the upcoming biopic about Snoop Dogg, simply titled Snoop. The film, slated for release next summer, is assembling a cast of actors to portray influential figures in hip-hop, including Nate Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Tupac Shakur.

Twain's role as The Notorious B.I.G. places him in the narrative of one of the most significant rivalries in 90s rap history, the East Coast-West Coast feud, in which both Snoop Dogg and The Notorious B.I.G. were central figures. The film is under the direction of Craig Brewer, known for his work on Song Sung Blue and Hustle and Flow.

Snoop Dogg himself remains active across the entertainment landscape. He is slated to appear as an original character in the Yakuza prequel Stranger Than Heaven next year, a title that will also feature a likeness of Tupac.

Snoop is expected to premiere in theaters on August 6, 2027.
