Ubisoft has confirmed that a New Game Plus mode is in development for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced. This announcement follows the news that the remake has sold over 3 million copies since its launch on July 9 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This sales figure represents a significant increase, with the game selling an additional 1 million copies in the week following its announcement of reaching 2 million copies sold in its first 24 hours.

Sales Performance and Player Reception

The publisher's decision to share sales figures, rather than just player numbers, for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced indicates satisfaction with its performance. The game currently holds a "Very Positive" rating from English reviews on Steam, with an overall "Mostly Positive" rating across all languages. This positive reception is attributed in part to the team's ongoing post-launch support, which includes quality-of-life updates and bug fixes.

New Game Plus Development

While specific details regarding the New Game Plus mode's implementation have not yet been shared, Ubisoft stated that it is intended to "further enhance replayability." Game director Richard Knight previously teased the mode's development in a conversation with YouTuber JorRaptor, noting that its inclusion was a natural progression and considered a lower-risk feature given that a version of it already exists in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Knight indicated that the team is actively working on New Game Plus and that it is a high priority. However, he was unable to provide a definitive release date, stating that while it is "at the top of the list of things," the exact timeline remains uncertain.

IGN's review of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced awarded it a 9/10, describing it as "more than just a shinier version of the same game you remember, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced brings what was already one of the best games in the series up to today’s standards."
