Kazuhisa Wada, producer for Atlus' P-Studio, has expressed a personal desire to see remakes of Persona 1 and Persona 2 developed, though he stopped short of confirming any concrete plans. In an interview with GamerBraves, Wada stated that while he cannot definitively say if remakes of the early titles are coming, he believes they are games that "we have to do."
Persona 1 and Persona 2, originally released in the late 1990s and early 2000s respectively as Revelations: Persona and Persona 2: Innocent Sin/Eternal Punishment, have not yet received modern remakes in line with Atlus' recent efforts. The studio released Persona 3 Reload to critical acclaim, earning a 9/10 from IGN for its "timeless story of tragedy and hope with sharp emotional sincerity" and numerous impactful changes.
Fans are also anticipating Persona 4 Revival, a remake of the fourth mainline entry, which is scheduled to launch on February 18, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Wada has previously conveyed confidence that Persona 4 Revival will be a fresh experience for both new and returning players.
While Wada's comments suggest internal interest, they do not confirm that Atlus is actively developing remakes for Persona 1 and 2. However, his advocacy indicates the possibility of these titles being revisited in the future, potentially years from now as Atlus continues its work on future installments like Persona 6 and explores other franchise developments, such as a reported live-action series adaptation.
